About Us
To find good management, one only needs to look at the contentment of the employees. A happy worker is a productive worker...workers who stay happy and productive for 15 or 20 years...they are family.
Ruedi Hafen, Niagara Helicopters’ owner and chief pilot says: “It’s funny, but I spend a good part of my day in the air and looking down on the ground where people look like ants. I’m sure some companies are run on the premise that their work force consists of an army of industrious ants. Not mine. At Niagara Helicopters, my employees are GIANTS – they walk tall, they carry more than their share of the load and they are only too anxious to speak their minds. As I see it, that’s the only way we improve our business.”
“In peak season, I have 55 employees and I know each of them very well. To me, they’re not badge numbers or identified by their positions. I am the lucky one. To me, they’ve become friends who happen to work with me every day.”
When Ruedi has been presented with various awards such as: Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year 2006, Good Canadian Citizen of the Year in 2004 and Niagara Falls Tourism’s Grand Misty, which is only given to an owner who has embodied the spirit of hospitality and tourism promotion he always thanks his employees and tells the audience “I feel too rewarded for what I do! I work with some of the most motivated people I’ve ever met. They are so good at their jobs, and so dedicated to help others. It really is most inspiring.” As they say, birds of a feather flock together.
