In 1994, Niagara Helicopters and Ruedi Hafen were the subject of the Financial Post’s “Turning it Around”, an article chronicling Niagara Helicopter’s road to success.
Also in 1994, Niagara Helicopters received two awards; the “1994 Economic Award” from the Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce and the prestigious “Roland Groome Award” from Transport Canada for excellence in maintenance and safety.
In 2002, the Niagara Regional Police, in conjunction with the Niagara Parks Police, awarded Ruedi “The Corporate Citizen of the Year Award” for his continuing support for law enforcement and community safety.
In 2003, Ruedi was honored by Niagara Falls Tourism with its highest honor, “The Grand Misty”, for lifetime contributions to the Niagara Tourism Industry.
July 1st, 2004 Niagara Falls and our Country, Canada awards Ruedi with the “Good Canadian Citizen”.
In 2005 Ruedi received the “Ontario Volunteer Service Award” for 20 years of search and rescue work in the Niagara Region from the Niagara Falls Fire Department.
February 28, 2006 the Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce honors Niagara Helicopters again this time around with the “Outstanding Business Achievement Award 2006 Large Category” and just 3 days later Ruedi is also given the” Entrepreneur of the Year Award” for 2005 Established Enterprise and as the saying goes “all good things come in threes” on April 18, 2006 Niagara Falls Tourism hands out Major Attraction Award of the Year 2005 to Niagara Helicopters in the Avalon Theatre at the Fallsview Casino.
This is not the first time Niagara Helicopters has won Attraction of the Year but was also awarded the honour in 1993, 1995, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
April 26, 2007 at the 40th Annual Misty Awards hosted by the Niagara Falls Tourism Association Ruedi receives the “Niagara Falls Review Community Achievement Award” for his very special connection with the community. During that same evening, Marketing Director, Aneta Fleming was awarded with the highest honour for employees, the Stella Howlett award for commitment to the tourism industry.
