On February 26th, 2010 at the 16th Annual Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, Ruedi was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for being an enterprising leader, whose contribution to the development of economic ventires in Niagara has spanned over several decades. The recipient of this award then induced into the Niagara Enterprise Hall of Fame, along with the Historical Hall of Fame inductees.

Dear Ruedi,

I would like to take this opportunity to offer my compliments to you, your staff, and your operation. During my recent visit, I had a firsthand opportunity to see many of the elements that form the foundation of your quality service.

In my capacity as a Transport Canada delegate, former Person Responsible for Maintenance, and pilot of both airplanes and helicopters, I have a very good idea of what it takes to make a safe and “passenger friendly” aviation service. With this foundation of experience, it is easy for me to see the outstanding quality of your operation, and the many examples of innovation which you have introduced. It is clearly evident to me that not only does your operation aspire to the highest industry and regulatory standards, but you have introduced many additional systems, and modifications, which though optional to your company, represent a real advancement in both passenger comfort and safety, and a softening on the environmental impact of the helicopters.

It was a delight for me to see some of the subtleties of your operation, which generally only a pilot or maintainer of helicopters would notice. I wish that your passengers were able to appreciate those many investments you have made, but they blend so smoothly into your operation, that they would seem to become “part of the background”!

The great thought and care you have put into your business over the many years is clearly evident to me, and I am sure that there is much that I have yet to appreciate! I want you to know that as a qualified observer, I am impressed to the greatest extent I could be. I wish you and your staff the greatest success, and hope that your passengers appreciate what a great safety system surrounds their sightseeing trips. Operations like yours make our entire industry look good, and set a standard to which all should aspire.
